Looking back over my life now, I realise how much God has done for me.
My name is Siobhan and I am 26 years old .I come from a small family of five and I grew up in a suburb of Dublin, Finglas. My father was a Roman Catholic and my mother was a member of the Church of Ireland. Unusually, I was brought up the Church of Ireland faith and attended a small Church of Ireland school in Finglas where I met my best friend (even to this day!) She was a bible believing Christian and she showed me my need for Christ. We went to a childrens club together, which was Christian run. Even at the young age of eight, God made himself very real to me. I was blessed that my parents encouraged me to go, even though they were not saved.
Ever since I was saved God has done so much for me. God helped me to grow up as a Christian in an unsaved home, which was not always easy and he also gave me many opportunities (and still does ) to witness to my family. He also gave me the great privilege of leading my sister to the Lord.
God has also blessed me with many great and very encouraging Christian friends.
As a school teacher ,God has given me a very clear direction and many opportunities to witness to children also.
Being a Christian means that I am free. Free from the things that capture most people in the world, free from sin because Im forgiven and free in the knowledge that I have a Father in heaven who is on my side, looking out for me, protecting me and leading me into the future, so that someday I will live in glory with him!
Being a Christian also means that I am a work in progress and day by day God is moulding me into the servant he wants me to be. This does not mean that I am a perfect person, in fact it means the exact opposite that God is continually guiding and directing me because I am human and more than not, weak, as my very nature suggests.
My hope and prayer for the future is that more people come to know God like I do, (especially my family and friends) by asking the Lord Jesus to come into their lives to be their Lord and Saviour, and by trusting in him. And my prayer is that you do too!!
Yours in Christ,
Siobhan
